Do this once a month. It takes about five minutes and your books are done.

1. Log the big items (1 min). Earned something? Record a sale. Bought something big? Record a purchase. Cash moved with a customer, vendor, or yourself? Record a payment. Repeating items wait for you as pending docs with the form already filled.

2. Type your real balances (1 min). Open Balance and type what each account shows today. The Expected column is just a hint. You type the truth.

3. Read your result (15 sec). Home shows Money in, Net profit (locked), Net worth, You will receive, You owe. Open the income statement if you want detail.

That is all. You do nothing else in NapkinLedger until next month.
